Vase 17 by John Beall

Description

Wood used is maple. One hundred seventy-seven (177) pieces of wood were cut, glued into thirteen (11) rings, glued to a base and turned on a lathe to shape. Seventy-six (76) horizontal beads were turned in vase and 90 vetical lines were wood burned on the beads making 7,296 individual cells. These cells were painted with black and deep scarlet red Indian ink.
