Vase 1 by John Beall

Description

Wood used is maple. One hundred sixty-one (161) pieces of wood were cut, glued into thirteen (10) rings, glued to a base and turned on a lathe to shape. Fifty-one (51) horizontal beads were turned in vase and 120 vertical lines were wood burned on the beads making 6,120 individual cells. These cells were painted with black, deep scarlet red, and colbalt green Indian ink.
