About Susan Kapuchinski:

Susan’s primary focus is oil on canvas. She bases much of her work on photos and sketches from her worldwide travels. They are for her an endless source of inspiration as she strives to convey the magic from that sense of place. She also enjoys painting colorful local Florida landscapes. A composition that explores the inherent beauty in nature, either from a singular orchid bloom, or a specific setting, is her model. Oftentimes, it is the dramatic effects of contrast in light and shadow that hold fascination for her and which she attempts to capture with brushstrokes or palette knife. Her work conveys a soft, impressionistic, romantic, yet realistic mood. Her goal is to make her artwork sing!
Susan spent 27 years as a decorative fine arts painter, carrying out commissions and selling to buyers in the southern New England region. In 2003, after a year sabbatical in Australia where she studied at the Griselda Academy, Susan relocated to Punta Gorda, and became an active member of the Visual Arts Center. She was chosen by the Arts and Humanities Council of Charlotte County as their Artist of the Month in 2005. Additionally, her work has been selected for entry in the Von Liebig Art Center Encounter in Naples and the National Art Show at the Visual Arts Center. Susan regularly exhibits her art in local juried art shows as well. She has been a member of the Sea Grape Art Gallery for 15 years.

Susan is currently a member of the Arts and Humanities Council of Charlotte County, the Charlotte County Art Guild at the Visual Arts Center, the Lee County Alliance for the Arts and the Venice Art Center.
