Contact Phil by email.Phil was born in Canada, but raised in Miami. Phil's first introduction to the many facets of woodworking came from his father Walter who was an "old world" master craftsman. Phil's first recognition as a wood craftsman came when the University of Miami, gave him an Industrial Arts award for a16' runabout boat he designed and built in his 9th grade woodshop class. Since then he has worked extensively with wood. He started directing his attention to the art of wood turning in 2000. The simple elegance of his designs are intended to allow the viewer to relish the natural beauty of the wood itself. Each piece is meticulously shaped and sanded. Finishes are applied to enhance the natural beauty of the wood he uses, most of which are tropical woods found in South Florida. His work is earning him a growing number of awards for his fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. Phil's handcrafted wood pieces can be found in many collections in the United States, Canada and Europe.
