With great sadness, Hirdie Girdie Gallery notes the passing of two our artists in September. Gordon Coughlin was a retired lawyer and a founding member of the Gallery. He worked primarily in oil with a palette knife, composing plein air landscapes and seascapes of upstate New York, Vermont, Maine, and Europe, as well as Florida. A former architect, Neil Glaser took up watercolor painting after retirement, painting scenes of Southwest Florida and his native Ohio. He was a member of the Gallery for thirteen years, and served as meeting chairman for the past several years. Both were award-winning artists whose paintings are in many collections, both nationally and internationally. They will be missed.
